Privacy Policy

Overview

This policy explains how Grainfall, an app for iPhone and iPad, Mac, and Android made by Jake Haas, handles your information. The short version: Grainfall does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information.

Information I collect

None. Grainfall has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. I do not receive any personal information about you or how you use the app.

Everything you make in Grainfall stays on your device. Saved worlds, your automatically saved canvas, and your settings live in the app's own storage; deleting the app removes them. There is no account, no sync, and no server of mine behind the app.

Grainfall makes no network requests of its own — there is no analytics, no advertising, and no telemetry of any kind. The only component that talks to the internet is the store's purchase system (StoreKit on Apple devices, Google Play Billing on Android), which handles the optional one-time Pro unlock. Apple and Google process purchases under their own privacy policies; I never see your payment details, and only a local flag recording that the unlock was bought is stored on your device.

Videos you record are written to temporary storage so they can be shared or saved. They reach your photo library only when you choose “Save to Photos,” which is also the only time the app asks for photo access. Sharing a world or a video hands the file to your device's standard share sheet at your request; once you send it somewhere, that recipient's own privacy policy governs it. Opening a world file you pick from your device works the same way in reverse.

If you turn on Tilt Gravity, Grainfall reads your device's accelerometer to tilt the simulation. Those readings are used in the moment and are never stored or transmitted, and the feature is off by default.

Third-party services

Grainfall does not embed third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking tools, and it does not share data with anyone — there is nothing to share.

Any purchase — the app itself or anything inside it — is handled by the store you downloaded from: Apple through the App Store, or Google through Google Play. That company processes the payment under its own policies; I never receive your payment details.

Children's privacy

Grainfall does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13 — because it does not collect information at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, I will post the new version on this page and update the date shown above.
