Privacy Policy

Overview

This policy explains how Story Pole, an app for iPhone and Android made by Jake Haas, handles your information. The short version: Story Pole does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information.

Information I collect

None. Story Pole has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. I do not receive any personal information about you or how you use the app.

Story Pole works entirely offline and collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting, and no server of mine behind the app. On Android it declares no permissions at all — including no internet permission — so the app is not able to make a network request even in principle.

Your settings, your tape history, and your saved jobs live in the app's own storage on your device. Deleting the app removes all of them. Nothing is synced, because there is nowhere to sync it to.

Sharing a job sheet hands the image or text to your device's standard share sheet, at your request. The app keeps no copy and is not involved in delivering it; once you send it somewhere, that recipient's own privacy policy governs it.

The app asks for no permissions on either platform: no location, no camera, no photos, no contacts, and no files beyond the sheet you choose to share.

Third-party services

Story Pole does not embed third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking tools, and it does not share data with anyone — there is nothing to share.

Any purchase — the app itself or anything inside it — is handled by the store you downloaded from: Apple through the App Store, or Google through Google Play. That company processes the payment under its own policies; I never receive your payment details.

Children's privacy

Story Pole does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13 — because it does not collect information at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, I will post the new version on this page and update the date shown above.
