Privacy Policy

Overview

This policy explains how Wax, an app for iPhone and iPad made by Jake Haas, handles your information. Wax processes your work locally and does not send your projects or usage data to the developer. The sections below describe local storage, sharing you choose, Apple purchases and support correspondence.

Information I collect

Wax does not collect personal information for the developer during ordinary app use. You control the files you import and share, and any information you choose to include in a support email.

Wax has no account system, advertising, analytics or tracking services. Modeling, sculpting, animation, rendering and file conversion run on your device. Your projects, photos and models are not sent to the developer.

Projects and settings are stored locally. Project files are available in the Files app, and project previews are cached on your device. Images you select for textures or reference planes are stored inside the project. Your device backup settings may include Wax data in backups managed by Apple.

When you choose a photo, Apple's system photo picker gives Wax access to the image you select, not your entire photo library. File imports similarly use the files you choose. Wax does not request your location, contacts, microphone or camera.

Exported projects, models, images and videos are written to temporary storage so you can save or share them using the system share sheet. You choose the destination. The app or service receiving that copy handles it under its own privacy policy; projects may include the image assets you added.

Apple's StoreKit service handles the optional Wax Pro purchase, entitlement verification and purchase restoration. These operations may contact Apple. The developer does not receive your payment card details.

Delete a project from the gallery or Files to remove its local project file. Deleting Wax removes its local app data. Copies you exported or shared, and backups managed by Apple or another service, must be managed separately in those destinations.

If you contact support by email, I receive the address, message and any files you choose to send so I can respond. Do not send projects or images you do not want to share. You can email jake@jakehaas.com to request deletion of support correspondence, subject to any applicable retention obligations.

Third-party services

Wax does not embed third-party analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Apple handles purchases and system file and photo pickers; apps and services you choose for sharing handle the exported copies.

Any purchase — the app itself or anything inside it — is handled by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes the payment under Apple's own privacy policy; I never receive your payment details.

Children's privacy

Wax does not collect information about children through accounts, analytics, advertising or tracking. If you believe a child has sent personal information in a support message, contact jake@jakehaas.com so it can be addressed.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, I will post the new version on this page and update the date shown above.
