Privacy Policy
Overview
This policy explains how iSplatter, an app for iPhone and iPad made by Jake Haas, handles your information. In short: I do not collect anything about you myself — I run no server and no account system. iSplatter is free and supported by ads, and the ad network does collect some information about your device in order to show them. This policy spells out exactly what that means.
Information I collect
Nothing, personally. iSplatter has no user accounts and no server of mine behind it, and I receive no personal information about you or how you use the app. The one exception to “nothing leaves your device” is the advertising described in the next section, which is handled by Google AdMob rather than by me.
Your photos stay yours. Editing happens on your device, and your images are never sent to me — not to any server of mine, and not to the ad network. When you pick a photo to edit, iOS shows you its own photo picker, which hands the app only the picture you chose; the app never gets access to the rest of your library.
The only permission iSplatter asks for is “Add Photos,” so it can save the artwork you export back to your photo library. You can change that at any time in Settings.
Advertising
iSplatter is free and shows ads, which are served by Google AdMob (Google). To do that, the ad software built into the app collects and shares information with Google, including advertising identifiers and other device identifiers, coarse (approximate) location, and information about how you interact with the app and its ads. Google uses this to select and measure ads, and treats it under Google's own privacy policy, which you can read at policies.google.com/privacy.
This is data about your device, not about your artwork. Your photos and the images you create are never sent to Google, to any advertiser, or to me.
You have control over how personalized these ads are. On iPhone and iPad, Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking lets you stop apps from asking to track you, and Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising controls Apple's own personalization. Turning personalization off does not remove the ads, but it limits what can be used to target them.
Third-party services
Apart from Google AdMob, described above, iSplatter embeds no other third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking tools, and I share nothing with anyone else.
Children's privacy
iSplatter is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because the app shows ads, please see the Advertising section above for what the ad network receives. If you believe a child's information has been collected, email jake@jakehaas.com and I will look into it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, I will post the new version on this page and update the date shown above.
