Privacy Policy
Overview
This policy explains how StopWatch, a Mac app made by Jake Haas, handles your information. The short version: StopWatch does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information.
Information I collect
None. StopWatch has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. I do not receive any personal information about you or how you use the app.
Everything StopWatch keeps — your current and last timer, recorded laps, and preference toggles — stays on your Mac in the app's own sandboxed storage. There is no iCloud sync, no account, and no server.
The app is sandboxed without network access, so it cannot send anything off your Mac even in principle.
The global shortcuts (⌘⌥S to start and stop, ⌘⌥R to reset) do not require Accessibility or Input Monitoring permission, so macOS will not prompt you for them. If you turn on “Launch at login,” the app adds itself as a login item that you can remove anytime in System Settings.
StopWatch bundles one small open-source component (HotKey) to register those keyboard shortcuts. It has no network access and receives no data about you.
Third-party services
StopWatch does not embed third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking tools, and it does not share data with anyone — there is nothing to share.
Any purchase — the app itself or anything inside it — is handled by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes the payment under Apple's own privacy policy; I never receive your payment details.
Children's privacy
StopWatch does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13 — because it does not collect information at all.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, I will post the new version on this page and update the date shown above.
